Have you ever wanted to shorten long web addresses (URLs) within an email newsletter or other forms of communications? Well there are free services that do just that.
How do they work? You simply submit your long web address to the website which returns a shortened version. When someone clicks on the shorter version they are automatically redirected to the address of the original URL.
Two examples of such services include:
- http://tinyurl.com – no registration required
- http://www.digbig.com – registration required and only for work purposes. Read guidelines.
I haven’t had need to use either but am certainly keeping a note for the future.
